I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S2. After I lock the screen and press a button to turn it on again (to unlock the phone) there is a slight flicker. White and black lines going vertically across the phone screen.

Note: I can only see it in dark areas such as - Dark rooms at night or a Theater. It only flashes for about half a second. But it is REALLY annoying me.

Does anyone else have this problem? I have only had the phone for 1 and half days.

Is it a brand new SGS2? No custom firmware or special apps installed?

It sounds like to the CRT TV tweak that looks like an old tv turning on/off when you turn the screen on/off.

If the answer is yes, then it's an issue. I would suggest first trying to update the firmware from stock (no root required) to see if it's just the old firmware doing it. Failing that (ie if the problem persists), I'd contact the manufacturer.

It is brand new. Its the GT-19100T.

I updated it once from the phone itself. No special apps installed, I even factory reset it. Still the same thing. It has one app on it (Nexus Torch) but even when I didnt have that app it still happened.

    It is version 2.3.5.
    Kernel Version 2.6.35.7
    Build Number GINGERBREAD.DUKJ1

Not sure why it has Nexus Torch o_O

Also not sure what your problem is and never heard of the I9100T variant until just now :p But if it's bothering you and factory reset doesn't work, it's a hardware issue and you might need a replacement/repair.

Nexus torch, 'cause I wanted a torch app, haha.

Can I just go to the phone provider and get a new one? I have warranty from the server provider.

I was facing the same problem, but for me setting "use tactile feedback" off in screen unlock setting resolved it

Replaced it 3 times, same problem. Do you think its just part of the phone?
