My Samsung note 4 at&t won't update to nougat. This new verion for note 5 was released in April-2017 and I'm still not able to update it. When I try to check the updates it says 'Your software is up to date' It is so frustrating that my other friends that has note 5 with the newer version of android.
Note: I do not live in the US. I've read on the internet that to get an update I need to be connected to the At&t servers and in order to do that I have to be in the US.
    Please help.

Nougat was never released for the Note 4. Phones only get 2 major OS updates within 18mos (Google only requires at least 18mos of OS updates). Nougat was released 23mos after Note 4 was released. The Note 4 was released im 2014 with Kitkat. It was updated to Lollipop in 2015 and to Marshmallow in 2016. Hence no more OS updates after that. You also will not get any more security updates, since that only lasts 3 years. Your 3 year span from phone release ends this month.
