Samsung Galaxy note i717

I just got my note and went online to read the owners manual. Figured out my s Pen wasn't working properly or at all. I can of course use it as a stylus. I do have a screen saver on buti don't think it is the problem. I had played with the pen before putting it on. The only thing I notice when holding the button is that it will recognize a website link. It only highlights it tho. I have also beat it, taken the pen apart and tried to turn the Dial inside. I tried to run the*#0*# but it comes back and says network problem or wrong mimic code. In my searching I also found in my settings there isn't an option for pen s settings. I reset the phone changed batteries and I am still not finding anything. I have an art phone using the straight talk Sim plan.
