As I was trying to unlock my Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant i9000M that was originally tied to Virgin Mobile Canada, I found quite a few issues. Finally after successfully unlocking it , I am posting some information here for the benefit of others. 1. First of all, I used the video in this link to follow to unlock. It worked perfectly once I fixed some common issues I found myself while trying to unlock. If I connect my device, system said, it was unable to install the driver. For this, I got the driver from 64bit: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOB...dows-x64.shtml 32bit: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOB...dows-x86.shtml Once I installed the driver, it worked and my Windows 7 was able to recognize the device. After reading a few forums, none of them worked. However installing driver was the best solution. Once this was done, everything else as mentioned in the youtube video led the path.
