    Dear All

I got my S2 for 2 weeks and I m regreting every penny and moment of it!
I m a gamer and instead of waiting for iphone5, I got this. Pls don't comment on Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.

So got my S2, played Zynga Poker = hanged, played Inotia3 = hanged
Both will show high RAM and CPU usage eg RAM 20-50MB, CPU 50-99%
What the **** is this? They say S2 got high specs eg whatever dual core, what gingerbread or pizza....but cannot play games?????

Agreed that it is good for other media functions eg movies, camera etc but that to me is secondary!

Anyone encounter high RAM CPU usage issue?
Any applications to recommend? Don't ask me to Jailbreak or Root my phone coz it is still under warranty. Furthermore, I don't know much about such action.:(:(:(

What do you mean by "hanged"? Did the games not start at all or what? I have a few games on mine, but never had a problem playing any of them...

Sounds like you have a crappy Poker app.., I haven't had any such issues with any games I got.

The following games I got from the Android Market which is FREE...

Zynga Poker - Can log in and play, but will hang in mid game
Angry Birds - Can play, but hanged after 1 hour plus...
Inotia3 - can play, but hanged if mobs swam me and I start to hit franticly.
Pocket Legends - can play (online game) but when a lot of characters eg Party and start killing mobs (swam) it hanged

Games which are ok with me is
Zenonia3 - can still hang but less chance
Simple games like Mahjong, cards game are ok.
    Havent tried any 3d games

When I say hang it means either of the following
    1) RAM and CPU % usage is red in colour, game frozen
    2) Game closed by itself. When checked, the application is not activated at background ( I dunno how to explain it better)

Appreciate if you can try the game and let me know. Either the games are not compatible or my phone is in deep shi+

    Thanks

    Hi there

Heard that Gingerbread 2.3.4 is coming out soon which the Samsung Tech informed me today. Claimed that it will solve 'most of the issues' but dunno which.....

Hope for that. If not, iphone5! Ya iphone has lots of great game and I never encounter any problem with that phone even those RPG games
The reason i choose SGS2 is because of the screen, I have big fingers which is a problem when i want to message.....Hope iphone5 has at least 4 inch screen...

No problems with gaming here, including running the Tegra-only apps.

    Hi Gearu

Sorry, I don't quite get you especially "what side you're on".
Are you suggesting that my phone is broken?
Are you encountering any problem in games?
    Appreciate your feedback.

I m waiting for 2.3.4, which the Samsung Tech said is coming soon (ya I have brought to the Service Centre after 1 week of purchase). If still like this, I will ask them to install those and try out at their phones.

Can suggest any Tegra games for me to try it out?
Apprecite if it is Free in the Market. If not, I m scared of specing a few $$ if the game is not suitable to me

    Regards

You need Root and Chainfire 3D to run the Tegra-only games. Once you have it then Galaxy on Fire 2 is a good example, and free. Riptide is the best one though, you will be amazed at the graphics...

    Hi NZTechFreak

    1) Root - do you mean my phone is rooted? I not expect in phone tech, but that day the Samsung Tech said my phone is 'root'

    2) I downloaded Chainfire 3D

    3) Where to download Riptide?, I did not get a hit in Android Market

    4) How do I know if my phone has Tegra Chip?

Galaxy SII doesn't have a Tegra, in Chainfire you need to do the Market fix in order for Tegra games to show up for you.
