Samsung Galaxy s6 edge will not turn on unless plugged in

My samsung galaxy s6 Edge will not turn on or run unless it is plugged in. When plugged in it will tell me my battery is at 100% and functions fine but if unplugged the screen turns black and will not turn on even in safe mode. I have tried a factory reset, i have tried switching chargers, I have tried the simulated battery pull and I have tried clearing the cache partition. Any fresh ideas? I can't afford a new phone yet and I need this phone to communicate with family. I am really trying to avoid sending it out to samsung to get it fixed or going to a service center, but i at least want to know what is going on. any help is appreciated.
