I'm abroad in Sweden for another week and the apartment I'm staying at has WiFi. The problem is my tablet can't find the network, it found a network with a similar name, so I'm assuming it's by the same company but can't find this one. My friend's iPad found it and my phone found it as well as her brother's phone. I've had no problems with it and connected to several other WiFis no problem. A lot of the trouble shooting I've read involves accessing the router but I can't as it's not hooked up to any sort of computer.

Can anyone help? Is there anything I can do or am I SOL? Is there an app that can turn my phone into a WiFi hotspot? Thanks so much.

Maybe a conflict default names or channels? If enabled, you can access the router settings via a web browser. If not enabled, you'll have to do a cabled connection (IE, laptop).

Can see the network when you scan? You can still add it manually. At the bottom of the WIFI settings menu on the phone - under all the wifi network names it found - you'll see the last entry is called "Add Wi-Fi network". Select that item and you can manually type in your wifi network setting for your wifi.

You can turn your phone into a wifi hotspot and use the tablet from there. Wifi Access is built into the android OS. If your provider locks that feature our, you can use FoxFi/PDAnet+ to enable your phone as a hotspot.
