Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 Spell Check missing

I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 at Best Buy, couldn't get auto spell check or spell check and took it back, the Geek squad and Samsung Rep. couldn't make it appear. We think it was because it was 7.0 OS and maybe I need a higher system to get that, BUT I asked this question everywhere and some answered it is there and some didn't know. I would buy it again if someone could tell me exactly how to have it appear.
