    i had the old samsung kies version and was working good untill the kies 2.0 came out and most of the features on the old kies(e.g. firmware upgrade) kept asking to upgrade which i did but the new kies does not support the galaxy s so cant use any of it.

    has anyone got any ways of connecting the phone to the new kies or making all the features on the old kies work?

    cheers

    When I bought my Galaxy S I had version 1.5xxxx, of Kies I think. It worked untill the update also, but once I updated I couldn't connect. Try the following;

    Disconnect your phone

    Uninstall Kies entirely

    Go into your Device Manager and remove all items related to your Galaxy S (I think there should be 2-3 different drivers relating to it).

    Then download the latest version of kies (2.0.0.11014_49_2) from

    Samsung Apps

    Once installed, you should be able to connect to the phone just fine. Oh and dont forget to ensure that the phone is set to connect to kies not as mass storage or media player :p.

    The above worked for me at least, lemmie know how you get on :).
