Samsung Made in Korea VS China

Dears,

Excatly the same situation I am in , I am based in Saudi Arabia, I went to shop to buy Samsung Galaxy S2, I opened the back cover , remove the battery and saw it is written made in china. The seller told me now a days whole new stock is coming from china, intially two months back phone was coming MADE IN KOREA.

Can anyone please confirm that there is NO DIFFERENC AT B/W Made in Korea vs Made in China?

P.S:If anyone who is using made in china appreciate his feedback too

Thanks & Awaiting.

is there any issue if we get made in china Samsung?

Hi 1ds!

I'm researching about which smart phone I should upgrade to next year, when I found your post.

I too have recently become concerned about where my future smart phone will be manufactured. But not because of any product quality issues.

I normally would not be bothered about buying products made in China (PRC). But lately I have realized that I can no longer support products made in China in good conscience because of their maltreatment of the Tibetan people, as well as PRC creating territorial disputes with its neighbors (using aggressive bullying tactics and brinkmanship).

Although I respect other peoples' decisions to buy products made in PRC, I just can no longer justify to myself how even 1 tiny cent of my money might help the PRC to continue doing what is currently doing.

So if anyone can provide a list of smart phones that are not Made in China, it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Then, the best way to make sure about the country where our Samsung device were manufactured is: taking out the back-cover, removing the battery and reading what says in there?

Is that completely reliable information?

They both have qurality because of the "Product controlled by Samsung US." or something like that.

The differences are the models which usually have different the Cellular and wireless, just like apple. for instance
Apple iPhone 5s have 5 models:

  • Model A1533 (GSM)*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25)
  • Model A1533 (CDMA)*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 19, 20, 25)
  • Model A1453*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26)
  • Model A1457*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20)
  • Model A1530*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20); TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40)
For Samsung I'm not sure yet. I'm still new to android (Use to be Apple fan boy.)
But I believe that Galaxy note 3 3G model is from China while 4G model is from Korea.

Hope this was helpful. :)
