I probably should not have - but I registered my Note 8 with Samsung - had to register for Taiwan because it is an Asian unit I bought.

I am now getting Samsung Pay notices in Chinese (?) (Well I think)

My question is: If I factory reset my Note 8, and start fresh - will it still give me the Samsung Pay Notices in Chinese?

(Not that I use it - but I would like to get it switched).

afair - it did not do that at first before I registered.

It will be Chinese notifications and information. I suspect the baked-in Samsung Pay app is localised for Taiwan use only, and probably just can't be registered with a US(foreign) credit/debit card. Do you know if it's an Exynos or Snapdragon based variant Note8?
Exynos5 / exynos8895 (SM-N950F/DS)

While I have not used it I did register a Card on it

I will give it a try at a grocery store this week and see

Now you've activated and used the Samsung Pay in the US, I presume it's not doing any more Chinese notifications?
I still get notices in Chinese - just got 2 yesterday

I still get notices in Chinese - just got 2 yesterday

and 2 more today

I think toiday I will backUp (Smart Switch - Nova and MailDroid)

and factory reset it see what happens.

(I will not register it - as it will only register in Aisa)

well not a good sign, it is showing Chinese test as it is factory resetting.

It did come up with the language selection after a while

Still the Same 8((
