Help Samsung s3 PBAP to landline handset

Cherivo

Lurker
I have the Samsung s3 and we just bought a Panasonic cordless landline phone that has Link to Cell. It's pretty cool that when I get a call on my cell, I can use the landline handset which has better sound.

Anyway, the Samsung s3 supports phonebook access profile as does the Panasonic so I should be able to upload my contacts from my cell to the handsets. I go through the process and it uploads 9 contacts, then stops. No error message, just stops.

Has anybody done this successfully yet? The Panasonic can store 3050 phonebook items and my contacts on my Samsung are much fewer than that. Any help appreciated!

Look at the ones it is uploading and see if there is a pattern. if you can determine the next number that should of been uploaded maybe you can see if there is anything about it that is unusual. maybe an extra field or something.

Hmm, good point. Thanks, I'll look at that. I suspect the contacts must all be in perfect condition with perfect fields, all the same, so this might not work for me.

There is a manual option too but that doesn't seem to go anywhere either. Thanks again.

Now that some time has passed, have you been able to upload your contacts to the Panasonic phone?

I'm trying to decide on whether to make an iPhone to Galaxy 3 switch and connecting the Samsung to Link2Cell feature on our 5-handset Panasonic phone system is a must!

Thus, while the contact feature isn't a must, the bluetooth connection feature is!

Is the bluetooth (Link2Cell) connection feature working 100% as you expected for you, with the Galaxy III?

Hi, we just got our Panasonic system on Monday and had a little trouble getting started. I watched a youtube video on how to set up both the iPhone and Android cells. It cut through a lot of fumbling around with the instruction booklet. I had trouble too with the phone book, but I read the instructions (new concept for me) and went step by step.

The first time I tried to do it manually, but that really didn't work. So I thought I would try the auto and was surprised it linked up and transfered. I'm still learning to use it. I was really disappointed that I couldn't transfer ring tones and still can't find a 3rd party app for that. I gave up my iphone last month when I got the S3.

Here is what I did from the handset:

1. Hit Menu
2. #618
3. Select Cell 1 or Cell 2 (make sure the handset is registered)
4. It will say "Transfer phonebook from cell."
5. It should ask you to "Select mode" - Auto or Manual
6. Follow the instruction (I had my cell opened to contacts while I did this because it didn't work the first time I tried. I didn't see this in the instructions, but I tried and it worked).
7. It then said "Completed"
I also selected "ALL" for all handsets and was shocked that it actually worked.

I hope this helps because I was so frustrated from just getting it set up yesterday, I waited until this morning to trf the phonebook. I did read in somewhere in the instructions re: trf of phonebook that it would only transfer names and numbers. I always sync'd from my outlook contacts to my iphone and went ahead and purchased a 3rd party app so I could still do this. I only want to put a contact in once or a date, etc. So I don't add anything on the fly or if I do, I always sync when I return home to make sure both outlook and my phone are identical.

Good luck - I hope it works for you. And if anyone knows of a 3rd party ap that will allow you to transfer or ad ringtones it would be most appreciated.
