Just upgraded from a S5 to the S7 Edge. While I have been playing with the Edge all yesterday I have noticed 1 quirk that annoys me and was curious if there was a setting for it.

When the screen is off (or always on feature), you have to hit the home key or power button to wake up, then swipe, THEN thumbprint or pattern. The S5 did not have that middle "swipe screen" requirement. You would simply hit the button and then proceed to your security lock (swipe pattern)

Is there a setting to disable this middle "swipe screen to unlock?

    Thank you for your assistance.

I only looked casually, but found nothing.

Set up fingerprint functionality, Hit the home button to wake, then just hold your finger on home button (dont press)...fingerprint, it will open to home page.
