Help Samsung Smart Switch

My Galaxy S3 is seriously misbehaving not receiving calls etc and I am having to restart it several times a day so I thought I would try a factory reset so have backed everything on to Samsung Smart Switch. Seemed to do the business backing up 1.7gb but being a doubting Thomasina I have tried to look and make sure everything is there before I do the deed so's to speak. Can't get to see anything - get no preview available or word cannot open. I would like to edit it a bit and knock out some of the apps but just can't get into it. Anybody got any ideas please?

Smart Switch probably uses a proprietary file format which isn't recognised by third-party programs.

that is a major flaw with all of Samsung's backup apps....

you can decide "what to save", and you can decide "what to recover" ONLY by categories, not the individual parts.
