Help Says sd card damaged/sd card needs to be mounted to use rom manager

Ok my phone is hiuawei ascend stock 2.1 i used video off youtube to update phone to cyanogemod 2.3.5 everything worked out ok except now says my sd card damaged, mount sd card when my card is already in place plus says sd card needs to be mounted to use rom manager so please inform me how to get my newly upgraded phone to read my sd card thank you

Welcome to ANDROID FORUMS, DAMIEN64.

Try this:

Go to SETTINGS > STORAGE.
If it still says MOUNT SD CARD, tap on that until it reads UNMOUNT SD CARD.

If it reads UNMOUNT SD CARD, then that means the card is actually in & mounted, ready for the phone to utilize the SD CARD contents.

My apologies if this seems a bit simplistic. Just wanna cover all the basics.

If this didn't solve the problem, please provide feedback w/as much detailed information as possible.

lol no its ok because sometimes the simple stuff gets overlooked but i did jus that settings/storage/mount sd card.. it just goes back to sayin mount sd card now i took out sd card and put in a different phone and that phone read my card ok is there anything in clockworkmod recovery i can do

I'm stumped as to why you can mount the card in one phone & not the ASCEND.

Did you have any previous issues w/this SD CARD when the phone was stock &/or un-rooted?

Also, do you have another SD CARD to troubleshoot with?

nah no prior probs wen stock or before/after root, only after i upgraded my phone. ill keep lookin an trying thank you i prob jus need to run it thru my laptop idk.. i currently dont have service to my phone but i can still go online and thru text plus app i can call n text for free but sd card has my pics an music pics i got but dam all my music oh well ill get again

Perhaps re-flashing the CM7 ROM again, or, flash another(earlier) version of CM7, just to narrow down the cause via process of elimination.

One possible cause of your SD CARD problems that I overlooked could be that the SD CARD slot is fried/inoperative.

A good friend of mine had to turn in her ASCEND for this SD CARD problem.
I had totally forgot about it,was long, long, long ago, in SMARTPHONE YEARS at least. Just by chance the topic came up in conversation. Then the A-HA moment hit me.
Perhaps you're still under the 1 YR. manufacturers warranty on defects & craftsmanship.
