as i understand it, maderstock will not allow for a gingerbread update with rooting capabilities correct?

if you want a gingerbread update with rooting capabilities, you must sbf using the two part procedure, correct?

based on that, is the nandroid backup i made not going to useful for obtaining the gingerbread upgrade with root?

just for info, when i first got my phone, i Z4 rooted it and made a nandroid backup with bootstrap. basically, the nandroid backup i made was completely bone stock except for the z4 root and bootstrap.

my current set up is 2.3.340....2.2.1....running apeX 1.4.1.

Since you haven't changed from FroYo, you should be able to nandroid back to stock rooted, and upgrade to Gingerbread from there.

The whole thing about Maderstock not working was for people who had upgraded to leaked versions of Gingerbread, and wanted to upgrade to the final version.
