Has anybody else had the pleasure of dealing with this piece of malware? Normally I am super careful about what gets installed on my computer. Unfortunately I let my guard down a few weeks ago as I installed Wi-Fi Mouse. I was tired and forgot to uncheck the box to install ScorpionSaver. I have uninstalled this thing dozens of times now, and it keeps reinstalling itself. I've researched it and it is definitely malware that keeps installing itself and adding extensions to all of your browsers, causing ads to appear(which are blocked by AdBlock thankfully. I've used Revo Uninstaller, I've uninstalled it in Control Panel, ran MalWareBytes, removed the registry files, deleted every file I can find relating to ScorpionSaver or Adpeak(the company that produced it), and it still keeps coming back. How the f*** do I get this off of my computer? EDIT: Running Windows 7.
Not happening. I have to much software that I need to use on a daily basis. Quickbooks, CYMA, etc. And even if they are Linux compatible, these are programs I got via student fees at my University. Meaning I have no CDs or means of installing them again if I reformat.
If your Uni's downloads work like mine did, you should have .iso images of the software that you can burn to DVDs. If so, do that, then re-install Win7 from scratch. It might be an idea to DBAN* the drive first, just to be sure all traces of the malware have been removed. No, the software is not made available online here. We have to take it to the IT helpdesk and have them install it and enter the license key, which is not provided to us. You are only eligible to have it installed once, and only while you're in the class that requires it. So if you lose it afterwards, you're on your own.
