Hmmm...I'm not sure off hand. I've never ran into that issue.

Until we figure it out, you can always use fastboot to flash the kernel.

Whatever rom you flash, place a copy on your PC and extract the boot.img from the rom.zip. Put the image file in your fastboot directory on the PC.

Flash the ROM via recovery and then use fastboot to flash the boot.img with this command: fastboot flash boot boot.img

Assuming the ROM is compatible with your setup, that should get it booting up.
