An automotive glaze detailing product (very very very fine compounding/filling) may do the trick, but I'm not sure how it'll interact with the oleophobic coating and stuff.

Are you planning to use a screenguard now? If so, try putting one on and see if the scratch is still noticeable.

Any idea what scratched the screen?

Some screen protectors advertise that they can fix small scratches when you apply the protector, but I'm not sure how valid those are (I haven't ever used one, I'm planning on getting one for my Inc though)

Yep...not on the Inc, but I've used it on a Treo, enV, enV3, and a few more that escape my mind at the moment. It doesn't completely erase the scratches, but it definitely minimizes their appearance.
