Root Screen black but phone is active

I don't know what I did wrong but when I tried to access my recovery in order to install a new ROM I had to use Droid@Screen so that I can use it. However now when I tried to use the ROM I could see it on my phone. The LG symbol would appear then it would go to black, only to be seen by Droid@Screen. I decided to simply revert back to stock to see if that would solve the problem, however, it did nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What screen do you have: Novatek or Hitachi? Do not factory reset your phone from the privacy menu on the phone. This will brick your phone.
You can use the recovery's "wipe data/factory reset" option though.
If you have the Hitachi screen, then what recovery did you install? If your phone was purchased after September of last year then there is a good chance you have the Hitachi screen.

I have Xionia as my recovery and I am fairly certain that it's a Hitachi because I purchased it in December

There is two xionia recoveries, the old one wont work with Hitachi:

Try flashing BobZohme modified CWMod recovery (VM670NH_recovery.img) and see what happens.

Or flash VM ZV9 SW Update and go from there. Follow this guide:
