NO YOU DON'T!!! (hold return that is).

I'm ALWAYS doing screen captures and it's so FxxxING annoying! I do NOT hold any back button or anything. It seems like when I send a quick reply using Handcent then try to put the phone to sleep it will click and take a screen capture.

The other day I was in the library where it's all quiet and of course there's 100 hot girls around. I send a txt message and press the button to put the phone back to sleep and "CLICK" goes the camera sound. I'm sure someone thought I was taking a picture of them (creep).

It's so damn frustrating!! I've given up on deleting them all the time... I just let them accumulate and then delete the folder every now and then.

Something is wrong with ur phone dude- I find it very difficult to screen capture- it is so deliberate. The power button is hard to press to begin with and I can only do it with 2 hands with fingers on the dedicated spots and even then I need at least 2 attempts.

    Do you use handcent?

It seems to only happen either when:

    1. I just sent a quick reply for handcent and I try to put the phone to sleep immediatly after.

    2. I'm trying to back out of an app and it backs out but I've just hit the back button a few times in a row quickly.

I'm not convinced it's hardware related since it's a new feature with 2.2 and therefore has not yet been put through it's paces (no chance for bugs to be found/fixed). Plus I'm not the only one reporting this happening!

No handcent here but I see what is happening. It's like texting and sometimes there is a keyboard lag and I'll get multiple letters in a row. The multiple back clicks with a quick shutoff is the culprit. The back clicks are atching up and active at the time you hit the power button -voila-screen shot.

Much too far from the waves
SAME EXACT THING WITH ME!!!!!! It gets SUPER annoying when it randomly takes a shot when I try to turn off the screen. Then as soon as it does take the screen shot, I cant turn off the screen for about 5 minutes and wastes my battery.

I have the same thing, definitely a 2.2 glitch for some. VZ wants me to do a hard reset but I may try the Fixing Froyo method instead.

This happens to me all of the time. If you hit the back button a few times after it screen captures, it'll be able to turn off fine.
