Was using the SGN next to an iPhone 4S today. In comparison, the SGN screen is very yellow (warm toned) and the iPhone appeared to have much truer and whiter whites.

    Is this consistent with expectations?

Yes, that is a fair assessment. You are seeing the difference between two screen technolgies. The Rezound, having an LCD screen as opposed to the Super Amoled of the Nexus, will resemble more closely the iphone.

That said, coming from the iphone since 2008 and the Nexus being my first android phone, I LOVE the Nexus display!!

I spent a lot of time comparing the displays on the iPhone, SGN, Razr, Bionic and various other Samsung phones at the VZW store.

The iPhone display is the clear winner for color and contrast. The iPhone whites are very natural. All of the Samsung phones were much warmer tone. I think the iPhone display makes reading easiest. Only problem with it is its tiny size.

If you find the iphone to be the easiest to read, then I highly suggest that you compare it to the HTC Rezound. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Christ people, is the difference sooooo much that it matters enough to make a post. We are splitting hairs here..... Like comparing different high definition TV displays.... Cannot tell unless you closely analyze next to next.

Bothers you that badly does it? The OP obviously noticed a difference , one that would be evident if you are used to a non amoled display, and asked an honest question to which i tried to help with. Whats your problem?
