Help Screen flicker prolem when playing games

This is my first Android phone and I'm having some problems with it. I have installed a bunch of apps and everything seemed fine until I installed Angry Birds. When I start up the game the screen starts flickering, right from the beginning when the splash screen (Rovio) shows up. Well, I figured it might be a bug so I installed the newest firmware, but that didn't help. Then I tried installing another game (Angry Birds Rio) but that one flickered too and the next one I installed had the same problem (Fruit Ninja?). The flickering looks like black triangles or lines flashing over the screen.

Do I have a defect phone or is there some magic update or software I'm not aware of?

I tried watching youtube videos and shooting a video with the cam and watching that, neither of those videos had any flickering. So this is apparently related to something the games use to render the graphics.

Anybody have an idea how I could run some test related to this problem?

Problem solved: I got a new phone (warranty replacement from the store I bought the phone from) and now everything seems to be working fine. No flickering in Google Maps at least - will try to install some other apps/games now and see how it works out.
