For some strange reason everynow & then my Desire has some background noise when browsing. I'm not using wi-fi, just my data. It's happening now as I type.

Has anyone else had this before?

Yes, i do get this occasionaly. It is generally when looking at a GMail with a predominant white background on the whole screen with a bit of text. I get a flickering across certain bands of the screen. Got to nip out now but will be back later to discuss further perhaps? Jono

    Sorry for the late reply.

I've had my Desire for 3 weeks & its happened 5 times. I'm close to ringing Vodafone to tell them I have a faulty phone. How many times has it happened you & do you think your phone is faulty?

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had/having this problem?

Are you sure it's not auto screen brightness?

Well, it hasn't happened on mine for a while now and i just tried to force it with no luck. I even tried a flashlight app and the screen is good.

Auto screen brightness is off. It seems to be very random?

I have this. Its subtle but its there. I notice it when there's a predominately white background.

Did wonder if its the auto brightness but not really had chance to troubleshoot it yet.

I've contacted HTC, but I'm holding my breath for a quick response:)

Typing now, its fine, but every now & then it makes an appearance.

I had it again earlier when i visited the App Market and searched for Live Bookmarks. When i selected the application and it took me to the homepage for the app i got the flicker.

Tried again 20 minutes later and no flicker.

    Damn!

    Hi

I think I have the same problem with my Desire.

In my Desire problem occurs only when all three cases are satysfied:
    1. Battery is almost fully charged, voltage on battery must be within the range: 4,07 - 4,10 V (showed by Battery Indicator).
    2. Brightness of the screen must be set on less than 25%, auto screen brightness can be on, but the phone must be in dark enough place so that the brigthness is less than 25%.
    3. White background of the screen.

When all these three cases are satysfied the screen flickers a bit. In the beginning I thought that this is the problem of only my phone, but as I can see other people have the same.

Check whether You have also this problem in these cases.

HTC didn't get back to me, so I contacted Vodafone & they informed me that the phone is faulty.

I sent it back & they issued me a new Desire.

I'd send it back, as not many people have had this happen, therefore it must be a phone fault.

I understand that You don't have this problem in the new one?

Could You check whether it happend or not when these three cases (that I wrote in the previous post) are satysfied?
