Help Screen issue

I just purchased the Nexus 7 and noticed when using it in my car the screen darkens when turned horizontally. This is a bit annoying since the dashboard mount I have for it sits that way. This doesn't occur at any other time except in my car. The only factor I can see that is different is that I have an audio cable attached for sound through my speakers but it still shows the screen fine when held vertically. ???

depending on how bright or how dark it is your tablets screen will darken or lighten :) to combat this go into settings (if this is your problem) and under display click on brightness and uncheck auto brightness

Auto brightness is already switched to off. Also, the darkening only occurs when the tablet is in the horizontal position.

ok in navigation go to menu (upper right hand corner three dots) and lick on settings. theres an option to dim the screen to conserve your battery! :)

Thanks, I found that and unchecked it but I still don't understand why it is happening when I only have music playing and only in the horizontal position. I haven't tried it using any other apps.

Just a random thought, sorry. Are you wearing polarized glasses in the car during the day? My dark glasses make the screen look darker in horizontal than portrait due to the polarizing effect.

Groid, You hit it! I realized just a few hours ago that my prescription sunglasses react with the screen when turned horizontally to make the screen look black. Very strange.
