Anybody know of a alternative to the Screen Mode Widget?

For those not familiar, this application makes it so you can switch back and forth from needing to use the slider, and other screen mode functions. It works when you first load the widget, but stops working after awhile (not sure what triggers the fail).

It's a great application, if it worked all the time.

Well, there has been a few updates and it seems to work much better. It still stops working every once in awhile, but generally is worth keeping - IMO.

Yeah, I don't think it stops working, but I think something resets it back to normal (sleep auto). I sometimes find my lock screen back on and find it in "sleep auto" mode and have to set it back to "awake stay".

I must say the dev has come up with an odd naming structure.... but I certainly appreciate the app.

just what i was looking for! curious to see how it plays with 'locale'. i think i'll make a suggestion to the author to make it a 'locale' plugin. then it would really kick ass.

Going to resurrect this old thread..

I too am having problems several times daily with the setting getting somehow changed to "Auto sleep". What could cause this? It seems to happen no matter what home replacement I use(thought it was my recent change to Home++).

Or is there another app/widget out there now that works better and takes more complete control of the setting?

I had to finally give up on it. Why waste widget space on something that rarely works? I just use the stock homescreen and still had problems. All I want is something that dims the screen but doesn't lock the phone completely when I'm sitting at my desk.

Not sure if you have tried Toggle Screen, but that toggles the screen time out, then you can use the Power Wiget to dim the screen.

The issue is that most of us want something that will let the screen timeout without locking it. Even screenmodewidget has the flaw that hitting the volume or camera buttons wakes it up. I just want something that will blackout the screen and won't wake it up unless I hit the power button....and I don't want to slide to unlock.

Not sure why its so hard...
