Support screen not locking

    So I bought my Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G over the summer and broke it while camping. It was still under warranty so I sent it into Samsung and they fixed it for me. However, when I got it back, I noticed a few issues, most importantly that my screen will NOT lock when I press the power button. I tried messing with the settings, no matter what my lock screen security is set as it still won't lock. I tried doing a master reset, clearing the cache, letting the battery totally die and then doing a master reset, and I've contacted both T Mobile and Samsung technical support and have had no luck. I think they updated the software when they fixed it, so is it possible for me to restore it back to the software I was using?
    Also I'm not super technologically adept so please explain your answers like you're talking to a 5 year old.
