I checked zagg and bodyguardz but they don't have a screen protector in stock yet.

I have had a touch screen since the HTC Touch, the Touch Diamond, the Hero, and Evo 4g. I have had each one of these phones in my pocket, sometimes with keys (although not intentionally).

I have never had a scratch on my display screen. If you guys like the feel of a protector, then by all means use one. But I haven't ever found the need for one. Perhaps those who use screen protectors expose their phones to some pretty bad environments. I don't understand, but obviously there must be a reason.

Guys, guys, guys...before we discuss this too far. If you are not aware, the phone comes with Corning "Gorilla glass".

Don't worry about needing a screen protector with this stuff, lol!

i never bothered with my epic and after a year, it's fine. i've got to wipe fingerprints a lot but i'd do that with protector too.

Gorilla Glass isn't made of diamonds, sand can scratch it, but that shouldn't be a problem unless you have sand in your pockets.

Yeah I've always used screen protectors, just in case. Doesn't bother me having one on at all. I've had friends who had scratches on their screens with phones that had gorilla glass - so just trying to avoid the problem. Plus 5 bucks is nothing - considering we're spending a lot on the phone.

Also I DO have sand in my pockets (going to the beach or playing volleyball on the sand with jeans on like Top Gun JK)

Thanks for chiming in guys

I won't use a screen protector personally for a few reasons.

1) Gorilla glass... simply amazing.
2) I'm extremely careful with my phone 100% of the time and baby it.
3) I'll have insurance on it, so if I break it I'll just get it replaced/fixed.

I ordered 3 cheapo screens from ebay for $8, thanks for the heads up tho.

I really wanna get a full body skin, any one know who makes the best?

Anyways...the 4 I know of that I feel are all the same as far as quality goes are:

ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | iPhone, iPod Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins
http://www.ghost-armor.com/
http://www.bodyguardz.com/
Phantom Skinz | iPhone, iPod, cell phone skins, screen protectors, cases, covers, shields, full body protection

I usually pick the one that has a special discount or deal and availability for my device soonest. I just ordered the skinomi one because its available soonest.

I hate the feel of the screen protectors, I don't know which brands they were, but every screen protector I've touched felt "grainy" and not as smooth as the real screen.

You do not need a screen protector.

I use a $2 ebay soft rubber case for my phone, however. I haven't used a screen protector since my total POS HTC Touch Diamond (worst phone I ever owned). It had a plastic screen and would scratch easily, but all glass devices (modern android phones) do not need screen protectors.

Honestly, phones now a days are pretty hard to get scratched up. You have to drop it from a good height depending upon the surface, or really go at the screen hard. Not that i intentionally do it, but sometimes my keys are in the same pocket as my Nexus S4G and I never had a scratch on it. I always keep my phones in great condition. My Hero never had a scratch on the screen. I'm not saying it doesn't need one, but you will be just fine without one. If you are prone to accidents or really protective, then you just might need one. Anything is possible. The SGSII has gorilla glass on it and it makes it that much harder. Nexus S 4G doesn't and I haven't scratched mines up. I always carry a micro fabric cleaning cloth with me though. I love for my screen to be clean. Not to mention, I work at Home Depot after classes.
