My screen will not timeout unless I press the lock button. This started about 2 weeks ago. It will occassionally work fine. I changed the timeout settings to 30 seconds from 1 minute...still same problem. I have removed the battery also. I saw a few people with droid had the identical problem with no replies with a fix. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have any 3rd party apps/widgets that have control over screen brightness? Go to appbrain.com, register, install the app on your phone, sync up, and then post a link to your app list. Most likely it's just a software conflict, but you may have to do a hard reset.

Not sure if this is what is causing the problem, but I noticed you have Bubble installed. When I downloaded that, it prevented my phone from sleeping (unless I force closed that app).

I'm leaning to the two "Flashlight" apps, since they control the screen brightness.

I recommend installing System Panel and see if one or both of these are running. If they are, kill them, and see if the screen turns off. If it does, uninstall the.

Thank you for the replies and help. Seems to be working now. I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes (only a few minutes last time) and it is currently operating as it should.
