My Desire's SD Card has just corrupted, I dont have a back up of the contents. So, I took the opportunity to buy a bigger 16Gb card and slotted it in. But there seems to be all sorts of errors with this card too (it wont mount, needs formatting, is damaged - various HTC error messages)

But my question is more about the phone. Does it still "know" about apps that were installed on teh original card? It seems to, they appear in the All Apps area and in task manager type apps. Is this a bit like the Windows registry retaining details of files and programs on a hard disk that has been uninstalled?

So, when I get a new card working, do I need to manually uninstall all of these old apps before installing again and moving to the new card?

Of course, I have to get hold of a card that actually works first....

    cheers
