SD Card has become "read-only"

    My Android One (Make: Micromax) came with Kit Kat.
    I upgraded it to Lollipop and later Marshmallow.

    Since the last 15 days my External SD Card that was functioning without problems has become "read-only".

    Camera, Office files cannot be saved. FM recording cannot be done.

    Please help.

    Could be your SD is worn out, end of life, and needs replacing. How long have you been using it? Flash media does have a finite life and can literally wear out after an X number of writes. It can go read only, basically to preserve the existing data on there, and can hopefully retrieve it.

    Will try replacing it and will reply.
    Have been using this card for 18 months now, your guess might be the reason.

    You might also check the permissions for any apps you are trying to save files from and make sure the permission to access storage is enabled.

    Settings > Applications > All > [App in Question] > Permissions
