I'm looking to buy an SD card for my wife's S3. As I'm reading reviews, a lot of people complain that the cards corrupt in S3's. Is this still a problem, or has it been fixed after 4.3 update. I really don't want to buy a card that's gonna be garbage in a few days or weeks.

Where do I get that, and do they make 32 GB? Not sure why I'd have to worry about it anyways, my HTC does fine with Sandisc.

I picked up my Samsung 32GB from Amazon. Before that I was using an 8GB PNY from Best Buy. So far no problems with either one but I make backups just in case. SD cards fail all the time so I don't think it's just this phone. The thing is when you have a phone as popular as the S3 you're going to see more posts about the issue vs a phone not even 1/4 as many people have.

I've never had a card fail in any of my HTCs. The card my wife moved from an HTC to her S3 became corurrupted, even though it was still usable. Most of the reviews I read for SD cards on Amazon warned of formatting problems if used in an S3. The reviews said to format the card to FAT32 or something like that, but I don't how to do it.

Theres a lot of theories and opinions but i think the bottom line is as Mydian says, make backups if your data is important.
The newer Galaxy series phones are infamous for destroying cards.
Getting a replacement isnt issue, most manufacturers will replace a "fryed" one (i know Sandisk will replace it no questions asked) but definately make backups.
Personally ive had a Sandisk 32gb "Ultra" card for over a year and its fine but then mine doesnt get used much

SD cards have a limited life i found out. when i got my S3 i used the same SD card from my droid x which i had for almost 3 years. then within about a month my SD card showed up blank one day. i only lost about 350 songs so no real biggie. i do recommend using a cloud based back up....

Sounds like the S3 killed your card. How long have you had a new one in it?
