Help sdcard read problems

I have bought a sandisk sdcard to use in my galaxy tab 2 and I formatted it as fat and put about 7 - 8gb of files on the card. On inserting to the tab 2 - on initial boot it starts to work fine and then stops working properly and umounts. On trying to remount it says the card is blank. If I physically eject and reinsert the card it can be read again but only for a short time.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so was it a card fault or a tab 2 fault.

Just in case its related I have recently upgraded from ICS to JB using the default samsung upgrade.

My SD card is not reading after I did back up and reset my phone.
Every time I want to mount. It tells me I don't have one.
Its not mounting and reading it basically.
