When I hook up my Eris to the computer SDK says its rooted and on the phone I have access to all root features. When I run a terminal emulator on the phone its says access denied and is treating the phone as if it is not rooted. Any thoughts on what is going on with this and any way to fix it.

Yes that sounds like a good idea. When you go into terminal emulator are typing su? It should then give you the superuser app pop up to allow.

np, terminal emulator is just like going to adb shell you still need to type su in order to use su type commands.

I would suggest not using terminal emulator unless you know what you're doing. The terminal emulator allows you to use commands from the phone to accomplish certain mods instead of using the adb connected to the computer.

Hey, I'm not telling you "don't use it". I'm only saying use it if you know what you're doing.

I would only mess with it if you knew your way around a Linux terminal. I can imagine it being very useful, but you can really mess things up if you don't know what your doing.

I've used "ping" (pretty much identical to the Windows one) and some simple file system commands and navigation. No way I could use it full time though, even on a fully text based Linux computer.
