See How The Keyboard Is Made

By accident I had the keys come up, dont ask.
Anyway, the keyboard seems to be make of ONE long plastic piece.
Than on the bottom they add a little bit of glue which is not very strong but good enough for its purpose. The glue and he sides of the outer shell around the keyboard holds everything in place.

Btw, the picture was taken on my wifes droid, in not so good lighting.

Just thought I share.

wow. that's crazy ... to me anyway. maybe there's hope that someone will create a replacement keyboard that has rounded buttons. it should be possible if they're just "stickers" .... so to speak.

holy hell that thing looks 2 years old. My five year old laptop's keys look like that, shiny where I touch and dull and caked with dirt/grime/finger oils around the edges. That is some serious use for one month.

How come the keys in the picture are so shiny, mine are dull and rubbery looking.

Because clear plastic tape was used. It makes the keyboard much more usefull to type as it raise it up a bit. I got the idea from some guy at a store. You add the clear tape over the keyboard than run your nail through each "box" of the keys to make tham stand out better. Typing on it is great!

Hmmm. That tells me that a program that lets you move the keys around can be matched with physically moving them! I don't get why the onscreen keyboard doesn't match the physical, esp. where the Delete key is. And yeah, does that leave room for customizing in other ways?

that sounds like it could either be a great freakin idea, or potentially a disaster .... let's try it and see

You can actually add some clear tape at the bottom INSIDE of the keyboard to raise them UP some. But you have to take the droid apart to do a good job. Or you may be avle to POP the keyboard up for the sides, but I dont suggest that way.
