    Hi there,

I'm new here. Found the forum while trying to fix a wifi issue on my Asus me173x. I love it, but I think it is time for a new one.

I'd like a budget tablet and my hubby found the Dragon Touch M8 8". My main use is email, surfing, kindle, taking notes, and sound recording is a bonus. No gaming, and I'm aware that the camera and speakers aren't great and can live with that.

Any thoughts on this tablet? I prefer to know about "gotchas" in advance. ;)

    Thanks!

My issue would be, it doesn't seem like a known brand, hence any repairs or aftermarket support may be nonexistent.

    Chanchan,

Good point. After reading more reviews I'm leaning away from this model.

Any other tips on lower-cost tablets that run Android 4?

    Thanks again!

If I personally would go lower cost, I'd pick something made by: Asus, Acer, Huawei, Lenovo. At least these are pretty well known brands with known aftermarket support.

My wife bought an Acer at Wally World for something like $88

it works great, and she is tickled with it.
Immensely faster than the Kindle Fire she was using.

I've picked up a few rca Viking pro at Walmart so far so good. Although that Acer sounds good too. Just a suggestion to go along with the rest. I hope this helps.

Ahem, guess Acer changed their brand name ,
it is now called a NextBook :D

Anyway, Walmart had one of those 12 hours sales going on, and we just jumped up and got the last one on the shelf.
