Seems like the phone has free wireless tether Out of the Box

I just got a Nexus S4G and I have wi-fi tethering and hot spot turned on.

I set encryption and password on it, and connected from two laptops.

Both can see the network, authenticate and connect but fail to get internet access.

Any solutions?

Sounds like you're doing it right to me. I did not set a password and it worked fine. However, after you connect the laptop, it seems to take a minute or two to gain internet access. So connect you laptop... wait a few.. and you should be good to go. Im sending this from my laptop connected to the internet via my stock/unrooted Nexus S 4G. Good luck!

Someone earlier mentioned that the wireless tethering is slow. How slow exactly? Any examples?

Also, there is an update coming tomorrow. Hope the tethering stays.

Its been working pretty well for me. Tethering to my laptop on 3G is getting me .5 to 1.7 megs/sec down (I'm in north Phoenix).

Im wondering if tethering will stay after the update, too. I sure hope so!
