Help Semi Transparent Status Bar After recent update (Verizon)

I just updated my Verizon GS4,and now the status bar is semi transparent when on the lock or home screens. Is there any way to switch it back to solid black (the way it was before the update)? I've looked through the menus but can't seem to find anything.

Also, in the update notes it mentioned a wifi quick toggle for the notification pull down (the main reason I updated), but I cannot find it. Was this really added?

Most folks, myself included, had to perform a factory reset for the WiFi toggle to show up.

was there haptic feedback pre-update when selecting shortcuts on the home screen? I cant remember.

That's system level settings, you would have to root or use a launcher to change it.

Side note:
One of the reasons I got s4, was for the seemless screen real estate space. Makes the screen look bigger. Anyway,
You could always adjust the wallpaper , photoshop a black stripe on top.
