Somehow I got my phone to go into a landscape mode home screen, I'm running 2.1 v2 and I've had the phone for almost 5 months and I've never seen this happen, and now I can't make it happen again. Turning it on its side does nothing to the home screen. Has anybody else seen this? The phone was just an icon and everything seemed to look fine, like it was meant to be landscaped, not just a glitch

Also, my orientation was turned off when it happened, oddly enough

Did anything else change as far as settings, or power down?
That would be awesome if Sense did that and I never knew it...

Well, I was using an app that was in landscape mode, and clicked the home button still holding it on it's side and the screen was landscaped. I didn't touch any settings prior to that. I actually freaked out a little, and pressed the phone key on accident which was in portrait mode and it hasn't happened since.

I believe you, I notice sometimes when you are playing a game in landscape mode, if you turn the screen off then back on the game will start in portrait mode for a few seconds. I'm sure there is a little glitch that does the opposite to the homescreen.

That's pretty cool. I've always kind of wished the home screens would switch... if everything else can, why not that? Oh well.

Yeah, but if it could switch, wouldn't you have to do 2 different icon layouts...because the proportions wouldn't be the same and things would get cut off if you didn't.

I do agree that it would be really cool if the home screen would switch back and forth!

I've seen that happen too. As noted, if the app you're using is in landscape mode and you hit the "Home" button, it will (sometimes) orient the homescreen in landscape mode too, but only for a second. It has never stayed that way for me.

i have seen this as well, it is a glitch. like other said it would be nice. would be realy nice if it could act like the BB storm.

portrait gives you your sense home, as usual

turn it landscape and your app screen pops up and you can scroll through it.

This is one of the reasons I like Home++.
The home screen switches to landscape mode, and the dock icons switch to the right side of the screen in landscape.
It's nice when you use and "landscape" dock on your desk.
