I'm new to android platform. I need to do a NMap scanning on an Android phone to collect primary data for my postgraduate research. But I don't know how to configure an android smartphone to access a local wireless network and give a dynamic IP address. I'm going add a laptop, with NMap installed was also added to the wireless network. What I'm going to do is I need to know if Android phone had any open ports available and if Operating Systems was detected. Can anyone give me an answer or suggestion for this question? Many Thanks!

Press menu, then Settings. Wireless & networks -> WiFi settings ->
Check on for Wi-Fi and connect the phone to your access point. By default android retrieves dynamic ip address.

Thank you. But how to do this method using live image of an android OS in Virtual box? Will it be possible as an actual android phone?
