I have been creating folders ave putting apps in them. I've noticed that i can't put the same app in 2 different folders. Is there any way to change this?

Of course I haven't tried all apps but I could put the YouTube app in two different folders.

When you open up a folder to add apps it says at the top:

"if apps included in other folders are selected, the folders will be changed" ...

Why would apps be controlled like that?

Install a different launcher and you can do as you please

As Dannydet says, it depends on the launcher rather than being a problem with Android per se.

On my HTC M9 (stock launcher) I can put any number of app shortcuts on a home page and put them in any number of folders up to a maximum of 16 in both cases. What it won't let me do is put more than one of each shortcut in any one folder.
