Setting up open source 3D android game engine - what license?

So, am just asking around for some help - am setting up an open source 3D game engine for android. What license should we use? Thought we'd go with something like BSD or maybe GPL/LGPL, but getting confused about it. Want a license that helps developers - doesn't hinder them - and an engine that's as open as possible. Advice gratefully received!

Try MIT license.
