Help setup htc sync

I have htc evo shift I download htc sense for my computer when i hook phone in cable and computer phone can't find on computer and cable is not responding when I plug in computer and phone?

Sorry for the stupid question, but, Do you have it set up as disk drive on your phone?

Well when you plug it into your comp via USB cable, an option would usually pop up to set it as charge only, htc sync, disk drive, and something else. You can try any one of those options. Idk which one in particular. But it should still be able to recognize the device once its plugged in.

I do that then cable stop responding it open up removable disk what to pick from?
