Sexy Body app by Sex Disney

I was appalled when I was searching applications for my daughter. I typed Disney in the search bar and scrolled down a bit only to see some naked chick. I think it is sick to think that someone is putting things such as that under the name of what any simple child would find and not to mention no parental controls over this. As an adult, I see the reason for why apps of this nature can be found on this market. As a parent, I am enraged that someone would try to subject kids to this. It is adult content and should be treated as such. Not posted there on a search that anyone's kid may perform.

Whoa there!! If you want a censored market, go to Apple. I'm not saying what you saw is ok, but censorship is not the answer. Try contacting the person/company that made the app.

The only reason that I see that this would need to be removed is because of the app creators name "Sex Disney" which means every application he makes will come up in a child's search for Disney. I have nothing else against any other pornographic materials. I just don't want it in front of my child's face when she tries to find TinkerBell pictures. They also have Sex Body_v7 which the picture you see looks like a cartoon. Once you click the app to see it shows the naked females once again.

There should just be an "Adult" category that's still open for all but keeps things confined. Maybe give you a popup warning before you go in, and/or have "see adult results.." as an entry on search results.

Perhaps let you hide the category altogether in your settings.

..if only I were in charge!

I think that would be a great idea. You have such on the computer with browsing the internet. The same technique should be used here. This phone is becoming more popular and with such more kids will have them in their possession. Some type of block should be set if you wish not to see adult content on your market.

I can certainly see the problem in allowing that stuff to show up in public searches, but I don't think taking it out is the final solution. Apple has gone a little far in their desire to have a family-safe experience, including taking out a swimsuit retail company. I'm all about safety for children, but I'm no Mormon!

Phases probably had the best idea with how to deal with the app, by putting some sort of warning on the "Adult Content" apps...

But to be honest....the app is a piece of crap anyway...it's just a bunch of naked women...it might as well be taken off....

I don't think a lot of people would care...

The app has the girls **** on the preview page. It should be at least blurred out there. And probably the only reason you want it to stay, is ur having a little to much fun with your phone.

What I do with my phone is irrelevant (google images!!). I agree some sort of parental control or separate section would be a good thing though.

I'm all for a better market in the sense that the categories could be better organized, the search algorithm should be improved, but frankly? Google's not responsible for parenting your children. You are. Quit trying to make other people cater to your oh-so-precious babies. They aren't obliged to, and cries of "think of the children!" are tiresome. Never mind the market, the phone's browser (or any browser in general) will expose them to plenty of porn, goatse, tubgirl, or what-have-you, especially once Android fully supports flash. If you're really crazy about control, root the device you're buying for your child and uninstall the market. Simple.

And... why do young children need smartphones again? Talk about spoiled.

Well it's not necessarily a simple as all that. I have a 12 year old boy and my neighbor has a 12 year old daughter and both of them like to mess around with my phone. Get a kick out of changing backgrounds "for me", playing the games, looking at pictures of us all, whatever.

And much of the time I let them.

Yes, I monitor what they do, carefully - as I should. I'm the parent and that's what I'm supposed to do. And I should feel obligated to. I don't even like them being on Google on a laptop (or online, period) doing school stuff without me turning on the strict filter and sitting by them, either. I know how easy it is to stumble on stuff they don't need to see.

So, yes it would be nice to contain the porn in the market to a certain area (or have the option to filter it out) to make stuff like that easier on parents. I'm not saying it's up to the masses to police someone's child because said someone should be allowed to give them free reign of searching the open Android Market... I'm just sayin' in the real world its not as cut and dry as spoiling your kids by giving them smartphones or access to laptops.

Password-protect your phone when you aren't around to monitor what they're doing on said phone? Do the same with all your computers and laptops. Advice doesn't apply if your kids are genius hackers, in which case the best course of action would be to get them programming courses to prepare them for entry into the IT industry. Early head-start and all that, you know.

The thing is, short of cutting them off from the internet entirely, you can't monitor what they see/don't see forever. Even then, they'll happen upon someone's stash of Playboy, hardcore porn, whatever.

Besides, do you have a problem with them seeing real-world violence on TV news?

Can't you flag software inappropriate in the market itself? I think this qualifies. I don't mind pron programs, but tossing in a keyword that is 100% aimed at kids needs to be fixed.
I have already flagged them as inappropriate so we will see what comes of it. The reason I have such a problem with it is what you said. It is targeting/aimed at kids. Which in my opinion is not right. A simple search for disney should not have pornography. Certain controls should be set where you can filter your searches or leave them the way they are.
