Like the rest we are waiting for Epic release. Some of us are stuck with our phones. Some can upgrades. But for those that want to upgrade to the Epic...are you paying out of pocket? Are you able to upgrade now? Is your upgrade in October like many of or September?

What will you do? Has Sprint ever given you an early upgrade and if so by how far from your actual upgrade date?

    Don't be shy...tell your tales.

I have 5 phones on my account. I started a new line to get the EVO, then after 30 days, did a swap and out put the EVO on my line, gave my wife my Blackberry Tour, who in turn gave her Curve to my son. I am due for an upgrade on Sept 1st but always get it a week or two early. I go to the store on the Sprint campus and they always allow an "early" upgrade. Early being maximum 29 days before the actual date. They said as long as I am within 30 days before, the system will accept it. Never had an issue doing it that way.

I am jumping from the EVO to the Epic ASAP. My daughter wants the EVO so it won't be wasted. All will be good.
  3. I am upgrade eligible on Sprint as of Aug 1. I have been on the fence with Evo/Epic for over a month now trying to decide which to get. I like Evo's bigger screen and kickstand, but also like the concept of the sliding keyboard on Epic.

Went to get an Evo on Sunday but none were available at Sprint or BB. After reading flynlow's testimonial I'm going to wait for the Epic. If there are GPS problems, then I will take it back for an Evo.

Good luck getting one. My Evo was having problems for at least a month, and during that time, no more came in to my local stores for me to exchange it with. They are probably STILL out of stock. So I just said screw it, and got the Intercept. At least it's a phone that works.

So I guess no luck for those that cannot upgrade until Oct 1, we have to wait until Sept 2nd to do so?

Like I said in another topic, I'm locked in at T-Mo until 10/10/10, so I must wait. :(

I'm on sprint & will be eligible in january to upgrade via premier. gonna try to get them to move it to august so i can get the epic though i'm guessing the odds are <1% but it doesn't hurt to try.

I had to call sprint last week after they did not reset my upgrade status after returning my evo. My wife is due for her upgrade on sept 1st. They offered me $70 off my bill if I committed to another 2 years and that she could still get he $150 upgrade when she decided to buy a new phone. Took that deal since we've been with sprint over 13 years and had no plans to look at any other carrier. Love Sprint!

Give it a try...worked for me. My upgrade was not Jan though.

To Vadar...Sprint is great and they do care. You just have to stand by what you believe in...be nice and work with you...plus Sprint Premiere rocks. Make sure everyone who is upgrading to take your old phones back to sprint as they will buy back old phones. Maybe not by much...but hey it's better then collecting dust and + it helps lower the out of pocket for the Epic.

I know the Intercept is a downgrade from the Evo, but what do you think of the Intercept? The reason I ask is that we'll likely be getting one for my daughter (my wife and I will be likely getting the Epic of course ;) ). I'm just hoping the Intercept will be enough to keep her happy. What do you think of the speed/quality of the device? Is internet browsing okay?
