Sharp SH7218U Keyboard Settings (Dian Xin UI)

Hi all, I recently purchased a Sharp SH7218U. Its a touch screen flip phone with also a traditional keypad. The phone is running Android 2.2.1 with Sharp's Dian Xin UI.
I am having trouble working out how to set the keyboard settings for texting.
I use the traditional multi-tap style using the phones numeric keypad. I tried to set this up on the phone but for some reason I had to press zero three times to get a space when writing a text.
I decided this must be due to a setting I had changed, so I did a factory reset and now the phone is taking alphabet input and giving chinese symbols back in a predictive way.
I dont know how to change it back.

Does anyone have this phone or understand the keyboard functions so I can get it to multi-tap, non predictive English setting?

Its ok I sorted it.
For anyone looking for the answer to the same question, you twist the screen & fold it down to bring up the Android keyboard and then set the numeric keypad text options from there. The settings you select on the Android keypad will be reflected in the numeric keypad when you flip the screen up and twist it back round.
