Help Shattered monitor

Hello everyone
I shatterd my droid x screen.. It still works i could receive calls but i cant see anything.. Im really curious to see the txt messages i got or the voicemails.. etc.. is there a way that i could connect it to my computer and see it? or retrieve them in way?
Also my new phone is on the way will all the txts be transfer? IF not is there a way?

thankfully, the droid x has an hdmi port. Not the best solution, probably won't even connect to your laptop but may connect to a computer monitor or your TV. Cables are like ten bucks off amazon.

ps just realized you'd need the app realhdmi. certainly doable, but you'll have to install and run it blind

one more question when i get my phone is there a way to transfer all the txt msgs to the new phone?
