    Hi,
Does anyone know the shortcut/key combination to bring-up the on screen keyboard(similar to long pressing menu key in dell streak) on Samsung Galaxy S?
In phones where this facility is available, it can b used to shortlist results in application list etc. In SGS though it only pops out when text boxes are selected..

not sure if I get you correctly
but usually android devices got 4 buttons , one of 'em is the search button
in the galaxy S , long pressing the menu button triggers the search button action [and showing up the keyboard]

I don't think there's a way to do that on the SGS. Also, why would you want to bring it up if you're not focused on a text entry box?
