There's a local shop that sells New Phones and Used Phones. A new GS3 will cost me 400$. That's kind of expensive for me anyway, there is a the shop has a used Galaxy s3 that costs 280$, it is in excellent shape, but the seller told me that it has no manufacturer warranty, instead he gave me a 10 days warranty from the shop being the manufacturer, which mean the sellers will repair the phone if something goes wrong in those 10 days. That's why I'm having my doubts about the phone, why is it only 10 days warranty from the shop? Maybe the phone is corrupt?
Anyway, can you tell me what should I look for before buying it? Is it worth it? I'm really paranoid :/

Do you really want the s3? If i wanted to buy a cheap phone it would probably be the Moto G. New so full warranty. Great lil phone.
If u go for the s3, just make sure everything works.. camera, flash, buttons etc. If the phone doesnt have manufacturers warranty then its more than a year old (in US) so it could have some wear and tear.
Usually when something goes wrong with the s3 its software related and can be fixed with the help of these forums.

    Have you checked ebay?
I bet you can find some great bargains of folks that upgraded to a Note 3 or SG4...

I would not I pay more than $200 for the S3, don't get me wrong it's an awesome phone but this late in the game if your getting a s3 it's only time before you'll want something newer being that the s4 is out and note 3. But if you have no other option then go on eBay for a cheap one.

Try SWAPA , also the Motorola G has no LTE capability, there is a reason it is so cheap.

I wouldn't touch it without at least a 90 warranty. You're asking for trouble seeing as its already over a year old and the manufacturer warranty is gone. The S3 is a good phone but I wouldn't pay that much for one that old with only a 10 day warranty. Just my opinion. :)

Try Swappa, they have really good phones that work, at good prices. If you try ebay or craigslist you are taking a chance that the phone might not work.

The Nexus 4 has 4G though and in terms of spec is on par with the S3 and brand new, with warranty, you should be able to get it for less than the $280 mentioned.

P.S. and it is very, very easy to unlock and root and you always get the latest and greatest Andorid OS as soon as Google releases it.

Well, I used to have 2 Nexus phones in the distant past and have to say that they were very good and soooo easy to root and sooooooo much custom firmware to choose from. The Nexus 5 is also a damn good investment, imho.

Buyer beware if you are buying one on craigslist!!! My husband bought me one from craigslist...a Galaxy S3. The guy worked at Cricket which is our phone provider. We thought it was legit...right? Well It was a Sprint phone flashed (in front of us) to Cricket. Worked great no problems...minor ones like I couldn't get my voice mail notifications etc, but I lived w/it for a few months. Cricket then slashes their phone prices online so I bought a brand new Cricket one. I put my old phone up for sale on craigslist for less than I paid. Bought it $250? sold it for $150. This girl buys it and trys to get it on her provider T-Mobile. They told her it was stolen....wtf!!! So now her b/f keeps calling us bitching about the phone. We told him we did not know it was stolen and we will give them back their money...no problem. Well the b/f is being an ass...He wants us to drive way out of our way to where she lives to return her the money and pick up that phone.........HELL NO!!! She bought it at our house...yes we told them to meet us at our house to buy the phone. Now with knowing that, why the hell would we have them come to our house to buy a phone if we knew it was stolen???? The b/f keeps calling saying he is going to report us if we don't take her back the money. I'm NOT traveling out of my way to do that. She bought it she should bring it back...right? Anyhow beware of phones you buy on craigslist.

The phone most likely isn't stolen. The buyer made a mistake in buying it. Tmobile uses GSM, and Sprint uses CDMA. Ignore them and their threats.

Also, when dealing with Craigslist, always meet in a public place, never your house.

$280 is too high for the S3 now. However, at the right price, the phone is still a good phone. For those that like removeable batteries and SD cards and don't want to spend too much on a new phone, I'd still recommend it.
