Should I get an HTC EVO 3D?

IMO much better than the Epic hands down, and if your meeting at a Sprint store then they can check it out before you buy it, now if your paying $280 for it I assume your contract is not up with Sprint so you can't get a new one at a cheaper rate?? and all Evo 3D's come with charger, 8GB card, and box. I also just checked eBay and the used ones are selling all around the same price between $220 and $300, some with more accessories, and some a little cheaper. As for the battery yes it is much better than 2 hour. Hope that answer some of your questions.

Alright I will have to ask them to do that. Do they charge anything to check it out?

I'm one year into my contract, so I can get 25$ or 75$ off full price lol... which extends your contract by 1-2 years (makes perfect sense... right? haha)

It's used, so accessories are never guaranteed ^^

Ya, though most I've seen going under 250 even for bids have a bad ESN and I'm too impatient to do bidding lol.

I do think it answers my questions. Thank you, and thank you CarrieK.

I think at this point I'm only gonna buy phones on launch day or around then, cause if I wait then there is something new about to come out. I'm totally interested in the new Htc phones with Beats integration, the Nexus Prime and the Samsung Galaxy Note.

The Note looks pretty cool and it's huuuge xD But what carrier is going to get it? What is Beats? <.<...

And to everyone, if I have the original box for the phone, I can do a manufacturer return if it turns out to have issues right?

My fiance's Transform is on it's last pinky toe nail (as you can see, way beyond it's last leg), but he's not due for an upgrade any time soon. He stopped by a Sprint store last week and fell in love with the Evo 3D he played with there, and is now adamant that his next phone be an HTC (apparently Sense has another convert). I'm considering surprising him with a refurb to tide him over until his next upgrade. He's not a power user or techy (which was why we went with the Transform to begin with), but he sees my SGSII (AT&T) being its blazing fast self and expects his phone to act accordingly. So my question is: are you happy with your phone? Would you recommend it over the other HTC phones on Sprint? I do know that I have to have at least a 4.3" screen to accommodate typing with his thumb size and he's vetoed another physical keyboard.

I would recommend it. Especially if he likes the 3D effect. Once you take a few pictures in 3D, you kinda scoff at any other type of cellphone camera. The thing is fast. We have all sorts of dev and ROM support on XDA if he is inclined to root.

ATM, Sprint doesn't have a better HTC phone. So if he's staying Sprint, it's the best they have. The only other HTC phone that beats the Evo 3D, at this point, is the Sensation XE, which I don't think is even on sale in the US.

i love my evo. and I use the 3D all the time. the dual core processor makes it extremely smooth and snappy. can't go wrong with it.

Being married for almost 30 years, my advice is to get your hubby what he wants, and not something you thinks he wants----and both of you will be happy at the end.... The EVO3D is a great phone, I love mine :)

I didn't plan on getting him something else anyway, just wanted to make sure there wasn't a general dissatisfaction with the phone before we committed. Found a nearly new one on Craig's list that we're picking up Monday. He's impossible to surprise, because he's highly likely to get a wild hair up a certain orifice and do something off the wall if I don't tell him anyway (that's fond exasperation you're hearing). I'm just glad to finally get him something that will (fingers crossed!) be less of a pain in the rear than the Transform. I flashed several ROMs on it and still never got it to more than barely acceptable performance.

    We're getting married in a week :D

I love, love, love my EVO 3D. I initially got it for the specs but use 3D way more than I thought I would. Also, with the MHL adapter, you can plug it into your tv using hdmi and have full mirroring of the phone. I think he will enjoy it a lot :D

I highly recommend the evo 3d, this coming from someone who already had the photon 4g, and now went back to the evo 3d for one reason, HTC sense 3.0, it can not be beat, every time I show someone my phone, the same reaction "cool" it has that wow factor. It is also built like a champ. It as not as fast as the ET4g, but damn close, much faster then my photon 4g, and the screen is sharp. I just wish the speaker was louder, even with volume boost, its an improvement, but the sound gets muffled when phone is lying on its back. Overall, one of the best phones Sprint has, just took me a test drive of the photon 4g to realize that, which is why I went back to E3d

At this point I'd wait for a Vigor or Nexus Prime.

Kind of curious what current owners think. I have a Galaxy S Captivate (first one) and I have the opportunity to upgrade to the HTC EVO 3D for pretty cheap. Should I? Or should I wait because there are some really great phones just around the corner?

Will the EVO keep getting updates? Is it getting ICS? Is it truly a great phone?

    Thanks for any help guys.

I am willing to bet we will have ICS. When, is a whole different story.

Yes it is truly a great phone. We've rooted every Android phone that has come through the door...except for this one. I've never been happier with a phone. Now if Sprint's service were just a bit more like VZ I'd be happy. Plus, I wouldn't be putting myself in a 2 year contract if I could avoid it. I'd like to have an LTE capable phone when that starts rolling out.

We have 2 Evo 3Ds here since June and haven't yet seen anything I would trade for. I think I'm set for a long, long time. The problem with *corners* is there is something always just around them. I would happily recommend this phone to anyone. :D

My wife and I both have the Evo3D, that we bought at release. We haven't had any major issues with them at all. They are fast, and do everything we want. We also just bought the Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch for our son. After comparing the two phones, there is no way I would want the SGS2. It has too many issues with terrible 3g and wifi connectivity, and some pretty annoying battery life issues. My son puts up with it, hoping for an update that will make it better. I just thank my luck that I didn't waste my upgrade on that phone. I will be happily using my Evo3D until Sprint releases their 4G LTE phones.

In other words, it is worth getting.

if the reception was better it'd be the perfect phone IMHO

The EVO 3D definitely has better reception than the NS4G. Have had 3G coverage on my EVO 3D where the NS4G had phone service only. Too bad because otherwise it is a great phone, pure Google, with regular updates. From what I've been seeing on the Sprint forums there have been loss of signal issues with the SGS2. The best specs in the world mean nothing if you can't get service. :D

i love it. i have been having problems tho with some wierd restarting the phone keeps doing. for no reason it will lock up then just restart. ive hard reset it a few times and keeps happening. the store cant figure it out. also when i load the camera sometimes i see lines, no feed. i have to either restart the phone or close the camera and go back in.

what phone are you on now? if i were you and your upgrade starts in jan, wait to see if the iphone 5 will drop with sprint. HOPEFULLY it will have the 4g on it. just get that.

unless your a android kinda person, then get the evo 3d. the 3d is very dope. have taken some badass pics with it. and watching youtube videos in 3d is cool. thats pretty much it with the perks.

Concerned about it all around this phone is a beast If this is what u like then go for it

I have had my EVO 3D since 6/23 and haven't had any problems with it at all. I honestly got it for its other specs but find myself using the 3D aspect more than I expected. I also like the mhl feature, which allows full mirroring of your phone to your tv. This is not only great for playing picture slideshows and home video, but for gaming and streaming video. For example, I have NFL Sunday Ticket and was able to stream the Red Zone Channel to a friend's tv.

This phone is fast and responsive. I use it constantly to browse the web and post on the full page versions of the forums. I have had no call or reception issues. In fact, when we recently went out of town for vacation, my EVO 3D and my husband's EVO 4G got 3G when our NS4G did not. I also like HTC in general because of their good customer support and regular updates.
